  • It builds career awareness.
  • It presents global careers suited to their personal traits.
  • It provides reasons to motivate them toward higher education.
  • It is scientifically referenced and presented in an easy-to-understand format.

Two comprehensive outputs

Two detailed reports prepared specifically for the student

School guidance services generally cover academic and educational, individual and social, and career-related areas. The reports provided by the Career Planning Tool align with these services and complement guidance work.

The personalized My Occupations List and My Personal Traits reports provide valuable feedback for school counselors, class advisors, parents, and students.

Structures meetings

The reports give teachers meaningful information about the student for meetings with parents. They also structure teacher and student meetings with objective data, helping make those discussions more effective.

Turns aspirations into goals

They help students set concrete goals that bring their aspirations for the future into focus.

My Personal Traits Report

A person becomes who they are through both the traits they are born with and the experiences they gain throughout life. These characteristics make each person unique and influence what they may achieve. While assessing a student's career interests and perceived abilities, the Career Planning Tool also interprets the personal traits that motivate their career orientation.

The scale is based on the view that a student's career preference is a behavior reflecting their motivation, interests, personality, and abilities. An occupation can reveal certain information about the people who practice it. A chosen occupation can also reflect an individual's self-awareness, abilities, way of perceiving the world, knowledge of the occupation, and desire to enter it. For this reason, the Career Planning Tool is more than an occupational inventory.

The Career Planning Tool prepares the My Personal Traits report using two personality and career theories. It draws on John L. Holland's Typology Theory (RIASEC), which is widely accepted in psychology, educational sciences, and human resources, as well as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) approach. These theories seek to explain people's behavior and interaction with their environment while helping them achieve career satisfaction when choosing or changing an occupation.

What is included in the My Personal Traits report?

The school years are a period in which individuals develop the psychosocial skills required to build a fulfilling life and establish their place within it. During this process, it is important to provide students with realistic information about who they are, who they can become, and what they may achieve. Turning a student's envisioned future into an achievable project rather than merely a dream depends on having this knowledge about their potential.

This report provides a multidimensional reflection of the individual. It helps students understand themselves better and become more aware of their potential.

  • The student's general personal traits
  • The 30 occupations best suited to the student
  • Working style and preferred environment
  • Attitudes in interpersonal relationships
  • Core occupational fields suited to the student
  • The student's thinking style
  • Recommendations for communication success and career development

The Career Planning Tool creates a personalized assessment of the student that even the student or those who know them well may find difficult to put into words.

My Occupations List Report

This personalized report ranks 962 occupations defined by the Employment and Training Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor and adapted to Turkish culture, from the most suitable to the least suitable.

To the best of our knowledge, no educational institution in Türkiye or elsewhere in the world provides students with this type of inventory output specifically ranked according to personal traits.

This internationally defined list of occupations is important because it helps students find their place in the global career landscape. This is also among the goals of families and the institutions that support the students' development.

Unlike other career tests, the Career Planning Tool matches specific occupations with personal traits. Beyond offering a general assessment by field, sector, or occupational group, it ranks 962 occupations defined under the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC). It presents each person's compatibility with these occupations as a percentage and across five levels.

The Career Planning Tool uses O*NET OnLine, a continuously updated resource regarded as one of the world's leading human resources databases.

Higher education program recommendations

The My Occupations List report also recommends higher education programs. Türkiye has hundreds of undergraduate and associate degree programs, yet young people may plan their future without knowing all of them. In addition to ranking nearly 1,000 occupations according to personal traits, the Career Planning Tool recommends the higher education programs that can lead to those occupations.

Research shows that many people work in occupations that do not align with the programs from which they graduated. The higher education program recommendations in the Career Planning Tool are important in helping students avoid this situation, which can be regarded as a career planning mistake.

Through this assessment, students can view occupations suited to their personal traits and the education programs leading to those occupations in a single report.

Filtering by preparation level

Every occupation requires a different level of preparation. For example, the abilities and preparation required for an immunologist and an agricultural technician are not the same. The Career Planning Tool shows this information in a separate column in the My Occupations List report. Its filtering feature presents occupations by preparation level while preserving the personal compatibility ranking.

Powered by thousands of lines of code and nearly one hundred thousand data cells, the Career Planning Tool algorithm guides young people with distinctive information that can add meaningful value to their lives.
