Two halves come together to support education

The Half Apple Scholarship is a non-repayable scholarship with no service obligation. Half of the monthly scholarship amount is covered by one donor, while the other half is covered by the Yücel Cultural Foundation or another donor.

TRY 3,500 per month

The recipient receives total monthly scholarship support of TRY 3,500.

Two sources of support

Half of the scholarship is covered by one donor, while the other half is covered by the Yücel Cultural Foundation or another donor.

12 months of uninterrupted support

The recipient continues to receive scholarship support for 12 consecutive months.

Possibility of continuation

The scholarship may continue for the following year if the donor maintains their support.

Current quota: The number of students that the Yücel Cultural Foundation can support through its own quota has currently been reached. For a new student to receive the Half Apple Scholarship, the two halves of the scholarship must be covered by two separate donors. Two donors can therefore come together to complete a student's 12-month scholarship support.

Eligibility criteria

Who can apply?

Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye who are enrolled at a university or higher education institution and require financial support may apply.
No distinction is made between public, private or foundation universities.
No discrimination is made based on religion, language, ethnicity or gender.
Students receiving a scholarship from another institution may also apply for the Half Apple Scholarship, provided that they declare this in the application form.
Applicants whose scholarships were previously terminated for failing to meet their obligations cannot reapply.
Applicants who were previously selected but could not receive the scholarship because no donor was found may apply again in subsequent years. A previous application does not constitute an acquired right.

Application form

Select “Undergraduate” in the “I'm Looking for a Scholarship” section and complete all required fields in the application form.

Uploading documents

Upload the required documents to the “Documents” section of the system. You can use the help videos while completing the form.

Selecting the scholarship and completing the application

After completing the form, click “I've Completed Data Entry”. Select the Half Apple Scholarship on the following screen and pay the application service fee to complete your application.

Document submission: You do not need to send documents separately to the Yücel Cultural Foundation by post or courier. Applications are evaluated using the documents uploaded online through bursverenler.org.

How are applications evaluated?

Board of Directors criteria

Applications are evaluated according to the criteria determined by the Yücel Cultural Foundation Board of Directors.

Scholarship Committee review

The Yücel Cultural Foundation Scholarship Committee reviews applicants' academic performance, document compliance and the information provided in the application form.

Complete and accurate information

Applications containing incomplete or misleading information, or without a profile photograph, are not evaluated.

Misleading information

If misleading information is identified, the scholarship is terminated even if a donor has been found.

Announcement of results: There is no fixed result announcement date for the Half Apple Scholarship. You can track your application through the My Scholarship Application Results section.

The scholarship can only begin when support has been secured for both halves. One half must be covered by a donor, while the other half must be covered by the Yücel Cultural Foundation or another donor.

Important: The “Your Information is Verified” status only indicates that you are a scholarship candidate. The required donor support must be completed before the scholarship can begin.

Donor options

How can donors select scholarship recipients?

Anyone who believes in the importance of education can become a donor to the Half Apple Scholarship. Donors may select a recipient themselves or leave the selection to the Yücel Cultural Foundation.

Donors who wish to select a recipient themselves

The donor pays the half-scholarship amount determined for the relevant period.
Donations may be made in cash, by postal transfer or by credit card through bursverenler.org.
Donations made through bursverenler.org using a Bonus credit card may be paid in instalments.
The donor informs the Yücel Cultural Foundation of the criteria they are seeking among applicants on bursverenler.org.
The Yücel Cultural Foundation shares a maximum of five candidates who meet these criteria with the donor.
The donor selects the recipient they wish to support from among the candidates presented.
Donors cannot provide scholarships to first-degree relatives.
To protect students' personal data, information about all applicants is not shared with the donor. Donors can access information only about a maximum of five candidates who meet the criteria and have passed the preliminary evaluation.

Donors who leave the selection to the Yücel Cultural Foundation

The donor pays the half-scholarship amount determined for the relevant period.
Priority is given to completing the outstanding half of scholarships for candidates already waiting for support.
If no such candidate is waiting, the Yücel Cultural Foundation Scholarship Committee selects the applicant with the greatest financial need and initiates the scholarship.
The selected recipient's information and contact details are shared with the donor in accordance with personal data protection principles.

Under both methods, the Yücel Cultural Foundation protects the rights of donors and scholarship candidates in accordance with confidentiality and ethical principles.

Notification and the Foundation's responsibility

How are applicants notified when a donor is found?

Automatic notification

When the application status changes to “You Are Eligible for a Scholarship”, the system automatically sends an email.

Email notification

An additional notification is sent to the email address provided in the application form.

No donor guarantee

The Yücel Cultural Foundation does not guarantee a donor for applicants whose status is “Your Information is Verified”.

The Foundation's responsibility

The Yücel Cultural Foundation is responsible for verifying recipient information, monitoring academic performance and terminating the scholarship when necessary.

Candidates awaiting a scholarship may find their own donor and refer that person to the Yücel Cultural Foundation. Following evaluation, one half of the scholarship may be covered by that donor, while the other half may be covered by the Yücel Cultural Foundation or another donor.

Which documents are required?

Criminal record certificate
Student certificate, unless a transcript has already been uploaded
Population registry copy

Lease agreement if the applicant's home is rented
Document showing the applicant's graduation grade, if applicable
Transcript, if indicated in the application form
Documents showing the income of family members, such as salary slips or pension statements
Social security or private health insurance information
Certificates from programs attended by the applicant
University placement score document, if indicated in the application form
Document confirming a scholarship received from another institution

After being awarded the scholarship: Download the Yücel Cultural Foundation Scholarship Regulations, sign each page and send the signed document to the email address provided to you.

Application validity

Applications remain valid for one year

An application with the “Your Information is Verified” status remains valid for one year from the application date. The scholarship may begin if the required donor support is secured during this period.

Applicants wishing to reapply after one year must submit a new application and pay the application service fee for the relevant scholarship again.

Support the Half Apple Scholarship

Cover half of a student's educational support

The annual donation amount for one half of the Half Apple Scholarship is TRY 21,000. When the support of two donors is combined, a student receives a monthly scholarship of TRY 3,500 for 12 months.

Donations made through bursverenler.org using a Bonus credit card may be divided into six instalments.

Role of the platform: Applications for the Half Apple Scholarship and donations to this scholarship are completed online through bursverenler.org.
