Support for original work in arts and sports

Talent (Art and Sports) Scholarships are open to applicants aged 28 or younger. One-time or ongoing financial support is provided for work and projects undertaken by young people who demonstrate success in culture, arts or sports and have limited financial means.

The Yücel Cultural Foundation Board of Directors has the right to cover all, part or more than the amount requested by the applicant and to extend the duration of the support provided.

Scope of support

Which activities and projects can be supported?

Activities such as an arts or sports program or competition that the applicant wishes to attend, a book they want to publish, an exhibition they want to organize or a similar project may be supported within the scope of exceptional talent.

Original work or project

The originality of the work or project for which support is requested is a primary evaluation criterion.

Exceptional achievement

The applicant must demonstrate exceptional achievement in the relevant field of arts or sports.

Eligibility requirements

Who can apply?

  • Applicants are not required to be students.
  • Applicants must be aged 28 or younger.
  • There is no minimum age requirement.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 must obtain consent from a parent or legal representative.
  • Applications may be submitted at any time of the year.
  • Applications remain valid for 12 months.

Application process

Apply for the Yücel Cultural Foundation Talent Scholarship through bursverenler.org

Platform membership

Register on bursverenler.org and complete the application form available through the Looking for Scholarships area on the homepage, including your photograph and the required documents.

Petition and documents

Prepare a petition explaining your reason for applying, your achievements and your request. Attach materials demonstrating your achievements, such as awards, certificates, medals, transcripts, reference letters, videos, portfolios and academic works.

Activity description

Provide a detailed description of the program, competition, book, exhibition or other activity for which you are requesting support. The description, petition and supporting documents may also be submitted by email.

Important: Documents submitted only by email will not be evaluated unless an application has also been completed through bursverenler.org.

Evaluation

How are applications evaluated?

Scholarship Committee review

Applications are first reviewed by the Yücel Cultural Foundation Scholarship Committee.

Board of Directors evaluation

Eligible applications are placed on the agenda of the Yücel Cultural Foundation Board of Directors, which meets once a month.

Advance notification

Applicants are notified in advance if their application is placed on the Board of Directors' agenda.

Decision notification

The positive or negative decision is communicated within 10 business days following the relevant Board of Directors meeting.

Scholarship payment

Support amount and payment method

The scholarship is deposited into a bank account opened in the name of the recipient. There is no predetermined minimum or maximum scholarship amount.

For scholarship recipients under the age of 18, the applicable legal procedures, including parent or guardian consent and the necessary banking arrangements, are followed.

Recipient responsibilities

Using the support and sharing experience

  • Recipients must follow the project schedule submitted for the supported project.
  • The financial support must be used within the period committed to in the application.
  • Recipients accept helping other young people in their field as a moral responsibility.
  • Recipients are expected to share their experience with other young people and serve as role models.

Support culture and arts

Help more young people engage with the arts

Through the Culture and Art Donation, you can help more young people access cultural and artistic activities. The minimum donation amount is TRY 1.
