GÖZDE'lerimiz Scholarship Program

About Scholarship

Scholarship provider: Bulgurcu Foundation

Educational support for women engineering students

Bulgurcu Foundation has embraced the mission of realizing Gözde Bulgurcu's hope of seeing more women engineers educated in Türkiye. Gözde was a successful engineer who made her family proud throughout her education. The Foundation has therefore identified successful and socially conscious women engineering students like Gözde as the program's target group.

Women engineers in STEM fields face gender discrimination in Türkiye and around the world. This situation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics has created a need for dedicated support for women engineers. Bulgurcu Foundation was established to help eliminate discrimination and build a strong support network by bringing women engineers together. It has supported its scholarship recipients since 2021.

Application deadline: September 15, 2026. Applications submitted after this date will be considered for the following scholarship period.

Evaluation process

Candidate selection, scholarship allocation and payment

Preliminary evaluation

Applications submitted through bursverenler.org are ranked according to how closely they meet the criteria. The number of candidates is then reduced to twice the available scholarship quota.

Interview

Selected candidates are interviewed by the Bulgurcu Foundation Scholarship Committee, either in person or by online video call. Attendance at the interview is mandatory.

Final decision

The Bulgurcu Foundation Board of Directors reviews the Scholarship Committee's report, may request additional information and documents or conduct another interview, and makes the final scholarship allocation decision.

Academic achievement and financial need are considered when scholarships are awarded. The Scholarship Committee ranks candidates according to these criteria. During September, it submits a report to the Board of Directors together with the scholarship allocation list showing the selected candidates' names, surnames and academic standing, as well as their Student Application Documents and attachments.

Scholarship amounts and annual increase rates are determined by the Board of Directors. Monthly scholarships are transferred to the selected students' bank accounts for 10 months, beginning in early October.
